with the new queeky we can see who and how people have rated us, i can see the point in this ( after all its nice to see who gave you 5 stars Wink ), but it also means we see who's given us less than 5 stars.
if i see a drawing that i think mabey isn't up that artist's usual stanard or i find offencive i rate it accordingly, so as you can geuss i've recieved e-mail questioning my ratings.

i think this should be removed so that artists arn't discouraged from rating honestly.

Hi,

It is not adjective to rate a drawing with less then 5 stars.

In contrary: even a 1 star rating is better then no rating, because the drawing will go to the upcoming section when it has reached 5 votes. No matter if 1,2,3,4 or 5 stars have benn given.

Mostly a single rating without commenting is not that attractive as a vote plus a comment.

Especially if you vote less then 5 stars, the artist will appreciate your critics and motivation of your vote. On Queeky, you can change your vote later on. E.g. if you vote on a drawing that needs improvement or is not finished yet, you can vote e.g. 3 stars, and when its finished you can vote the same drawing again with 5 stars. Your second vote will override your first vote. In this way you can encourage artists to improve their drawings.

So please don't hesitate to vote honestly, even if you think a drawing deserves 3 or 4 stars. Every vote will up the drawing to the upcoming and top rated section.

the problem was just that you can now see whos rated you so i had an message from an artist complaining that i had given them less than 5 stars, just thought ratings should mabey be anominous to prevent this

Hi

I think if you add a comment to your vote, that reasons your vote and tells the artist what could be done better - a vote of 3 or 4 stars is no reason to complain. An artist who can't deal with critique will never improve. So do not hesitate to vote honestly, in the end it it your choice and your opinion what you think of the respective piece of art. And it is important for the artist to get a honest vote - this is better than getting no feedback ...

We are displaying the votes because there are some members here who voted great pictures low in an unfair way. These users now will be exposed to the public, and voting a picture down (with one star e.g.) without a real reason or just because of jealousy will have a bad impact on those jealous lowvoters: no one will vote and comment on their drawings any more.
